Genom att lura en användare att öppna ett specialskrivet Word dokument (.doc) kan en angripare använda denna sårbarhet i kärnan, för att installera Duqu och exekvera godtycklig kod med fullständiga rättigheter på det sårbara systemet eller för att utföra en Dos-attack.
